Deliverd to deliver

Scripture : Romans 8:10-22

There are plenty men written in Colombian history who sacrificed their lives to free the people from the Spanish yoke. Sadly we tend to only think about it on certain given annual dates as we did recently on July 20th when the country celebrated two centuries of independence.

Still, there was once a much bigger sacrifice from the Man who broke the chains of the demonic influence that oppressed many lives, ridding humanity of the bondage that damned it, His sacrifice delivered humankind from the painful prison of sins it was stuck in by hopelessness, prostitution, humiliation, pornography, lust.. among all kinds of other terrible things…

The man delivering all of us was Jesus Christ…. More than two thousand years ago His vicarious death on a cross gave everyone who accepts it real freedom.

So, as His redeemed people, we must NEVER forget what He did!

While peasant soldiers fought Colombia’s freedom on the fields, Jesus went beyond sacrificial fighting and with His victory He opened for all of us a wonderful path full of opportunities! This is why you and I are now called to share about our freedom with those who haven’t gotten to it yet… we can bring freedom to our people by:

1. Not forgetting Jesus’ sacrifice (John 8:32) Lots of young people who’ve heard about Jesus aren’t actually aware of all of what He did on the cross… some go to the meetings and celebrations just to follow the flow, they don’t think it is good to do it because IT MAKES SENSE to honor God with their whole lives.

The thing is that every moment possible we are to use it to learn about Him and dig deeper in the bible on how to make the best of ourselves to please Him.

His sacrifice brought us freedom, but we need to learn how to use this new freedom… He gave us a new life and the promise of and eternal after one… the least we could do should be to thank Him and show that gratefulness in how we lead our lives.

Getting involved with enthusiasm in the activities your church offers, is all about helping you find a new life direction, while you could also invite other youngsters to start enjoying that new perspective.

Living a life in Jesus without religion will help you remember what He’s done for you all the time… not only during Holy Week, giving Him honor always.

2. Being light in the darkness: Our testimony will affect the point of view of many. It is within our reach to share freedom with those “outside”! How wonderful it is to give good news to others and be a living example of the joy of freedom.

What’s the good in talking about Him and His redeeming work if we don’t live Him? If our attitudes, words and actions aren’t a reflection of any positive changes then what are we challenging people with?

3. Our demeanor: People around us scream for help… they need advice, the need their voids filled! We are so used to a violent and dark environment that we don’t worry enough to go out and share with them about the love of God.

As His children, we are to step up! We are to share the gospel, pray for our cities, our country, and our planet. We can’t keep on being indifferent to what goes on: we can’t be indifferent to the drug addicts who swear being in control of their substance, we can’t be indifferent to the teen prostitute, we can’t show indifference to kids partying out… “They’re just ‘having fun’ they’re young!”

We have to do something! Our hearts can’t freeze so much that these sorts of situations don’t tell us anything. It is our responsibility to bring the message of salvation to the lost... to our lost youth! Jesus has a passion for the transformation of the souls and He delivers us so we can show freedom to others who don’t enjoy it yet.

Dear Friend: you are a child of God… you enjoy the privilege of being one… today is when you must start sharing with everybody about the work Jesus has done in you; let them meet Him with your testimony, be a good example at home, at work, in the train… everywhere you are, and be an instrument of blessing, so that through you He can continue performing His redeeming work.

Be an instrument of freedom!

If this is the first time you’ve ever read our meditations and have never invited Jesus into your heart, then, all you have to do is to confess out loud, the following prayer: “Lord Jesus I lay my life in your hands today. Take control of my heart and life and be my Lord and personal savior. Please forgive my sins. I repent of all my failures and wrongs and receive your peace, your love and your forgiveness. I thank you for the precious gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.” Dear reader, if you just made this prayer, I give you my congratulations. The Lord says you are new and all your past (even right before your payer) is all gone. He has forgiven you from EVERY sin. Now, my advice for you is that every morning as you open your eyes, you go to The Lord in prayer feeling free to call Him Father for He is!. Get a bible and read it. You may start with John which is a book that details to you His love story for you. Also, please feel free to contact us at the link so we can hear from you and pray with you.
